So, yesterday I was in Donegal and was absolutely delighted for a great – if wet – morning in Letterkenny for Walk With A Doc. Thanks to all those who came out. It was a great morning – despite the weather. Honestly, I think this one was my favourite walk so far. Just delighted to meet some fantastic people, and the park was probably my favourite route so for being social.
I just should have warned local GP reg Dr. Bonner that I have a 100% record of it raining during walks so far!
This autumn series has not just been about talking about “winterising” physical activity – like all these walks, it’s an opportunity to invite patients to come walk with me. To have those conversations that don’t always happen in the clinical space. And this autumn, I’ve also introduced the programme to my colleagues.
Did you know? Walk With A Doc is an international programme with chapters in 85 countries – including Ireland!
Hopefully, Letterkenny will have future events (and if they invite me back, I’ll be there!)
If you are interested in having a walk in your area – get in touch! Where should I take the Spring 2024 series?
