Groups Are Back – and a few other changes for 2024!

What’s New?

First, really excited that starting next month, I’ll also be seeing patients in Beacon Consultants Clinic in Sandyford, Dublin 18. If you would like to change your appointment to that location, just get in touch.

Secondly, the Facts Not Fears podcast lauched today. It’s been a project that has been on the shelf for a while, but I want to thank the follower who asked me for an option to be able to listen back to today’s webinar.   It’s available on Spotify.  You can download the Spotify app for free, and listen to today’s episode.  This podcast will continue my mission to promote health literacy and health education, so will never be behind a paywall or require subscription. I am, however, a podcast amateur so let’s see how this goes…

But let’s talk groups:

Groups are back – starting February 2024!  And this time they will be virtual.

What do you need to know?

  • Referrals welcome but not needed.

  • Message the practice or email hello@emdoc.ie before 31 January to express interest.

  • Groups will be based around patients on shared journeys.  Based on current wait lists, this will include weight management, peri/menopause, and healthy families but may change based on interest.

Answers FAQ’s:

  • How does it work?   You will need to attend a brief one-on-one screening appointment first.

  • Maximum 10 people in a group.

  • You don’t need to share anything in the group you are not comfortable sharing, but you will be asked to keep your camera on and take part.

  • The sessions are on a GDPR-compliant and secure platform that is designed for telehealth (not Zoom).   You can easily join through your phone, tablet, or laptop.

  • Pay-as-you go €20 per 60-90 minute appointment (group dynamic sets the time and pace)

  • Group Medical Model?  Never heard of it?  Read more
