The other day, the radio was interviewing an Irish entrepeneur who was launching (yet another) menopause product. She was very clear: “it’s a good time to ride this wave.” And she’s not wrong about her timing – marketing trends show this market is growing. And it certainly came up in clinic yesterday where my patients shared their latest product finds with me – there was a definite menopause trend!
This Amazon Prime Day, where is your money best spent:
Menopause supplements?
Menopause make up?
Menopause skin care?
Menopause vitamins?
Menopause aesthetic treatments?
Menopause personalised diet plans?
Menopause wrist bands?
When it comes to all healthcare, your value for €€€ — especially in family and women’s health, comes from good health education — based in science and fact, not marketing appealing to pink-washed ideals of “natural”. If you simply must invest in a menopause product this Prime Day, make it a good investment: Dr. Jen Gunter’s book “The Menopause Manifesto” (it will cost you less than another useless supplement).
Did you know? Considering consultations with registered healthcare professionals (dietitians, doctors, physiotherapists, etc.) can often save you €€€ on avoiding the spend on unnecessary products or ineffective/alternative treatments. Ask your GP for referral. This is often covered by private healthcare insurance.
