This evening, pre-schooler C. decided to be creative: What happens if you just put all the veggies for the veggie salsa into the food processor at once? (It did look pretty here all loaded up.)
Turns out it’s still really tasty- just lacks a bit of the texture you get by following the actual multi-step process suggested by the chef who wrote the recipe.
Involving young children in cooking is both easy (they love to help and its so sensory!) — and really, really hard.
But it’s actually good for their health: it helps build a great foundation for their lifelong good relationship with whole food (not processed) and eating.
This fresh veggie salsa was served with homemade fresh fish cakes.
The mess of cooking with a 3 y.o. is not, however, pictured here. No one needs to see that.
