“Hey so sorry but my hubbys in agony he woke up with a huge blister on his knee like a burn it was yellow and filled with a lot of pus we have no idea how it happened wasnt there before he went to bed thurs but was there fri morn[…] he cant put weight on his leg he usually has a high pain threshold. Is it infected? As weve no idea what caused it we dont know what to be looking out for?”
[note: I PM’d this person back with advice to contact on-call GP]
“in agony” is really the key reason to contac the doctor here, rather than any potential concerning diagnosis, since the pain is to the point your husband can’t even walk.
If you are in that much pain, ring the GP/ GP on-call or perhaps proceed to an urgent care or ED.
I’ve previously posted about this before in regards to your little ones. If you describe your little ones as “suffering” or “in agony”, it’s usually time to ring the doctor on-call. Same for your poor husbands and partners: time to call the doctor on-call.
Married men live longer than single men. Or, as the joke goes, maybe it just seems longer. Studies have shown that one reason that married men live longer is that wives prompt or push them to seek appropriate medical care. Men are more reluctant to attend doctors for both immediate problems and preventive health checks. #menshealth
