World Health Day: My Health, My Right

Written by Dr. Kate McCann
7th April 2024

The right to correct, unbiased health information

The right to education about your health – including nutrition information (no nutribabble)

The right to access preventative health services

The right to whole-person care that is inclusive, not discrimatory or judgemental

The right to access qualified health professionals- not having to settle for less qualified services because of shortage

The right not to be misled about “experts” qualifications

The right to have a doctor-patient relationship with an actual in-person physician

The right to evidence-based medicine

The right to shared decision-making

These are rights I advocate for my patients in my practice.

This World Health Day, what health rights are important to you?
